January craft-spiration

I have a feeling 2014 is going to be a GREAT year! Right now my inspirations seem to be nature-oriented…it must be the weather here in Seattle. None the less, I’m feeling positive about this upcoming year and what it has in store for me!

January craft-spiration

Top row:

2014 calendars – Why not start off the year organized and inspired! Get a great calendar like this one from Little Low Studio.

Seattle artist, Victoria Haven – I love her use of abstract shapes to create space and form. I’m going to hear her speak this Friday and I can’t wait.

Middle row:

Canoes – I did my fair share of canoeing during Girl Scout camp as a kid, and I still love it. I especially love how Albert Bierstadt captured its peacefulness in this piece.

Bottom row:

Wire art – Last April I saw a piece which I believe was done by Lace Fence in the Centre Pompidou in Paris, that was of a chain link fence formed into a beautiful art pattern. Very cool.

Wood grains – I am loving wood grains right now. If you couldn’t already tell from my Darby Smart DIY! Here are some great wood grain texture downloads from Design Instruct.
