Craftspiration August

August craft-spiration

I’m not sure how or why I missed so many months of Craft-spirations. :( It’s not because I haven’t been inspired lately, but more like time is moving way too fast. So I’m putting “pen to paper” and getting my inspiration up on the blog. This month my inspiration comes from summer. Some comes from traveling, and some have just been on my mind for months.

Hawaiian Quilt

A recent trip to the Big Island inspired me to try my hand at Hawaiian quilting. It’s a little daunting, but I will start small. Check out the intricacies of this quilt from Welsh Quilts.

It could be the summer heat, but I'm ready to put on my cowboy boots and make something with fringe...maybe as beautiful as this fringe necklace by ManoBello.

The summer heat reminds me of a trip to my boyfriend’s midwest hometown a few summers back. The trip was full of street dances, rodeos, and a whole lot of country! And what goes with country but fringe. Not cheesy fringe…but CLASSY fringe, just as beautiful as this fringe necklace by ManoBello.

Bold patterns from the 60's like this amazing fabric from the mad4modvintage Etsy shop.

The summer colors remind me of bold patterns from the 60’s, like this amazing fabric from the mad4modvintage Etsy shop. Plus it kind of reminds me of this nylon shirt my Mom used to have when I was a kid. It was very disco-esque. :)

Needlework and embroidery by Karen Barbé. Her work is phenomenal!! Just looking at this makes me inspired.

Hope these inspire your crafting as they do mine!

November craft-spiration

I can’t believe this, but life got in the way and I forgot my October Craft-spiration! So I hope this November one gives you some inspiration for the season of blessings.

November Craft-spiration

Top row:

ThanksgivingWhat are you thankful for this year? Martha Stewart has some great inspiration for how to set your Thanksgiving Table.

Middle row:

Concrete DIYs – I think I might try a concrete DIY this month. They’ve been showing up lately and I’m intrigued. Check out these candle holders from Design Mom, they are super cool.

Burlap – It’s kind of a Fall thing don’t you think? I have some scrap lying around so I need to think of something to do with it. Check out this Apartment Therapy post on decorating with burlap.

Bottom row:

Cabins – I would love to have a cabin I could escape to every few weeks to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Check out my good friend Stefanie’s Pinterest Board on cabins, it’s so inspiring.

Feathers – I absolutely love this feather nail art featured on Design Curiosities. What other feather crafts can you think of?

July craft-spiration

Here are my latest craft inspiration from the web for July. I’m thinking in red, white and blue right now and am excited to tackle a patriotic craft this month. What will you make?

Wooden stars from Pretty Handy Girl created this awesome mantle with wooden stars, antique tins and flags. I saw a wooden star recently at the Seattle garden store Ravenna Gardens and thought it would be a fun idea to create.

Middle row:

Bomb pops are my all-time favorite popcicle.

Pendleton blankets are always a classic, and I especially love the plaid ones right now. I think a vintage blue or red one would make a great tote bag.

Bottom row:

Twine obsession continues. There are so many things you can do with it and The Twinery has so many good options to choose from.

Mystic Knotwork had an article in Martha Stewart Living recently and even though I’m not a boater I still love the way these classic knots look.
