The Home Shows – Pearl Jam

It’s the summer of 90’s rock.

First up, Pearl Jam – the Home Shows. These tickets were tough to get, but I was lucky enough to score 2 for each show in Seattle. And most importantly, the shows benefit the homeless issue in Seattle. (See this article about the shows from the Seattle Times.) It’s so awesome that the band is doing this to shine a light on the cause.

The first time I fell in love with PJ was 1992, when I was a freshman in college. The movie Singles was released right as I entered into UW, and my roommate and I were hooked. We must have listened to that soundtrack hundreds of times. :) Not only was that the soundtrack of my fall quater, PJ’s Ten album was heard from every frat house down greek row. I haven’t seen them since their last Seattle show, and so I was pretty excited to go and enjoy their music once again.

The band did not disappoint. Three hours of music and community. It was an amazing night, with an incredible turnout.

Party like it’s 1988

I’m not ashamed to tell you all that I’m proudly going to the NYOTB, Paula Abdul, and Boys II Men concert tonight with my lifelong girlfriends. :)

When I heard the NKOTB was coming to concert, I texted my friends and said “I don’t care that I’m turning 43. It’s my birthday and we’re going to this concert and dance like it’s 1988!” So here we are…29 years later…going to the NKOTB concert AGAIN. Yep. We went to the NYOTB concert together back in 1988 when they performed at the Puyallup Fair.

Tonight we will be reminiscing about old memories, as well as making new ones. So in honor of birthdays…I’ve created my Party Playlist. One song from each year I’ve been on this earth (with a bonus song from the year of my birth.) Some of the years the picks were easy, and some were hard (especially the mid-80’s.) So many songs. So many memories.

So download Spotify, and follow KT’s Party Playlist! Get ready to get your dance on!
