Embroidery Calendar Kit
For Christmas I received a Heather Lins Home Stitch the Stars Calendar Kit. It was the perfect DIY to complete while watching the Seahawks game during the holiday break. Once it was complete I knew I needed a way to hang them up to display their cuteness! The calendars come with a pre-punched hole, but you know me. That solution would work fine but I wanted to put it on a counter, not the wall. I do this all the time, and sometimes I come up with a brilliant alternative! After a bit of brainstorming, I dove into my craft-stash and found a few things to make this project complete.
Follow the easy instructions in the calendar kit. It’s super easy and a perfect afternoon craft. And if you want to add an extra special finishing touch, all you need is some Nate Berkus Brass Clips from Target, and a 5″ x 7″ vertical acrylic leaning frame.
Once you have all the components, just take your card and clip it to the acrylic frame and voila!
Next year I might just have to continue the tradition, and stitch up Heather’s Fruit of the Month Calendar Kit! :)
Pinspiration | Photo Clip Boards
Bro/Sis Craft Day part two took place a few weeks back. I like to throw my bro-in-law some craft challenges when I’m there and this time I thought we’d do a spin on this Photo Clip Board DIY that I pinned on Pinterest awhile back. This amazing DIY comes from Liz of Love Grows Wild. Her project was so awesome I had to try it! Plus I have always been a little impatient with my artwork (I like to change it up all the time) so this was the perfect solution.
She created three separate clip boards, and we decided to do a twist on that. We decided to attach all three vertically using 4-3/4″ x 5/32″ turnbuckle eye/hook screws and 1 ” S-hooks. For the top, we attached some small ground wires that we found in the garage. I really like the combination of industrial and natural. Call us crazy!
Now onto the artwork…the top art print is Feathered Arrows, from Minted.
The middle print is one of my absolute favorites, William Rides His Bike by Ez Pudewa. I LOVE elephants so this makes me smile every time I see it!
And the bottom art print is Landscape of Triangles and Dots, also from Minted.
It turned out so amazing. :) Thanks to my bro-in-law for letting me take over his garage and tools. And special thanks for the pinspiration Liz!
Check out Love Grows Wild for her step-by-step instructions. :)
