It’s time to start something new and trust in the magic of new beginnings

Summer update

It’s been super quiet here at Krafty Kath the past few months. It’s not that I haven’t been thinking and dreaming up crafts these few months…I’ve just been busy with big life events!

2015 started out with a bang with a trip to Salt Lake City and the Winter Alt Summit 2015. It was a great trip, enabling me to reconnect with some bloggers I met last year, and meet some new ones!

I followed that trip up with a trip to Craftcation with Jessica from Oh So Antsy. We had so much fun hanging out in the Californian sun and meeting some amazing talented makers. I think I had more fun with these ladies then I did crafting. SHOCKER!!

Almost simultaneously I started the process to buy my first home. And wow, I had no idea what I was in for. If anyone here is not familiar with the Seattle real estate market trend, well it’s INSANE. I won’t go into all the details of my experience, but all I can say is it moves fast, the bids are high, get your cash out, and be ready to jump! Some of my friends have been in this process for months with multiple failed offers, and deflated hopes. I lucked out on my second offer and now find myself a home owner! So I packed up my 15 years of stuff from my condo, and officially moved into my new place last week. In addition to the craziness of moving, my day job has changed slightly…so I’ve been working on getting ramped up and on par with that. It’s a great opportunity to grow my design career and I really do love my day job.

Whew. Now you know why I’ve been so absent. Life just sometimes happens and you can’t prepare yourself for all it will bring. So far it’s been fantastic and I can’t wait to see what the second half of the year brings. It will most definitely bring more crafts that I can’t wait to share with you!
